Pros

None. How could there possibly be any?

Cons

Every morning, we have to attend a morning meeting. This is when he gets to “instruct” the employees. What was originally a 15-minute meeting became 30 minutes, and then turned into a one-hour personal show. Everyone had to stand on the first floor for an hour, listening to him attack every employee. The morning meeting was not about discussing what needed to be done that day, but about invading people’s private lives: criticizing employees for walking slowly or speaking slowly; saying that no one could address him directly and that they had to call colleagues by name; requiring everyone to sit up straight; allowing everyone to listen only to the music he prescribed. Unimaginable personal attacks all happened in this company.

The thing he is best at is pretending to understand things he does not understand. Every day, he has to say that he is leading and instructing everyone. He cannot distinguish right from wrong: the boss is allowed to make mistakes, but employees are not; when the boss makes a mistake, it is the employee’s fault. Whenever an employee comes up with a great idea, the boss rejects it outright. A few days later, the boss will bring up the idea the employee came up with, then say that he thought of it himself and tell everyone to implement it. After that, the boss convinces himself all over again that everything was his idea, that he is leading and instructing everyone, and that everyone must keep up with the boss’s “forward” progress. The most frightening thing is that many proposals require the boss’s review, but this boss always drags things out until after work, holding everyone up while changing one thing here and another there. After employees get home, he still does not let them off the hook—especially during consecutive holidays, including the Lunar New Year period. He continues to control things remotely via WeChat, changing one thing here and another there. If an employee does not respond, the next workday is a nightmare: they get relentlessly berated, and then they are dismissed. Employees being dismissed is a frequent occurrence.

He really likes asking employees to do things after work. He really, truly loves calling employees after hours; no one can escape. He even proudly says that so-and-so was still making a PowerPoint for him at midnight. One employee had already fallen asleep on the desk during lunch break, yet he shook the person awake to help him with work. In the end, that employee ran away. There are many job openings now, but no one can stay for long. There is no need to continue wasting time and energy on someone so unreasonable. To anyone still looking for a job: please think carefully and don’t fall into this pit of fire!!!
