The third-largest sports brand (behind Nike and adidas)
1. The salary agreed upon during the interview is reduced by at least NT$5,000. The interviewing manager will try to fob you off with bonuses paid on the three major holidays! In reality, the overtime pay alone that should be provided already exceeds those three-holiday bonuses! However, this is a completely all-inclusive salary system, with no compensatory leave or overtime pay, violating the Labor Standards Act!
2. The managers of each department only shirk responsibility. The managers’ meeting on Mondays is simply a meeting where they undermine one another, creating an extremely poor workplace atmosphere!
There are no SOPs for work processes; everything depends entirely on the general manager’s mood. They do whatever comes to mind, and often rush things through at the last minute.
3. Despite having no budget, they complain all day that things are inferior to competitors. They have absolutely no understanding of production costs. A little research will reveal that the company’s quoted prices for partner manufacturers are practically bloodbath prices! It has long been a well-known blacklist name in the industry, yet employees are still expected to use their personal connections to find resources. Don’t sell out your network.
4. Office staff are required to support anniversary sales events by handing out flyers during department-store hours until closing, and to work at year-end clearance sales until 8:30 p.m. There is no compensatory leave—absolutely ridiculous! During working hours, they also have to take shifts traveling to the Taichung central warehouse to ship goods. Travel time is not included: they leave Taipei by car at 6 a.m., arrive at the Taichung central warehouse at 9 a.m., start packing goods, and cannot get off work until 6 p.m. By the time they return to Taipei, it is already after 10 p.m.! Employees are also required to drive their own cars, and applying for reimbursement of fuel costs is subject to all kinds of unreasonable obstacles.
5. The general manager’s idea of a good employee is someone who works overtime. As a result, you can see many people who clearly have nothing to do but do not dare leave work, waiting until the general manager leaves before clocking out—a ridiculous sight.
6. Employees are forced to exercise and upload proof to the company group chat. Those who fail to meet the target are even called out by name, causing some people to fabricate records. It is a pointless activity.
7. There are people who steal their salaries; those thick-skinned enough can shamelessly stay on. Having three nominal managers in one marketing department is truly unheard of. If a manager takes a dislike to you, they will target you and use all kinds of petty tactics to force you out.
8. Taking sick leave is made difficult.
