New office building
Although the manager who conducted the interview was young, his behavior and manner were extremely, extremely traditional. This is also a company with a very traditional Taiwanese management style and culture. When I entered the building, no one attended to me. When I called HR, the attitude was also very poor. Only then did a staff member come out and ask me to fill out the company’s own CV at the entrance. They then kept emphasizing how great the company’s products were (high-tech?). When I asked about comparing quotations or other questions, they took a very long time to explain things, to the point that it was almost impossible to understand. For example, if the quotation is 80 and the cost is 20, what percentage is the profit? 20/80 = 25%, which can be answered immediately, but I still had to listen to him finish explaining that if another cost were 80, how much should be quoted for a 20% profit?! This shows the mentality of someone who is young but wants to act like a big boss, using an authoritative position to pressure newcomers. Judging from the other comments, are these companies’ lack of respect for people really considered normal? They then insisted on speaking English (many words were mispronounced and spoken so quietly that they were completely incomprehensible). This kind of militarized, traditional local management culture should be eliminated and phased out as soon as possible......
