I interviewed about a year and a half ago, so I’m not sure whether this should be considered work or interview experience.
At the first interview, I met with the owner and a supervisor. The supervisor said there would be a second interview involving Excel operations, and that current employees would be asked to provide training that day. They also said they were looking to hire one or two new employees.
I can relate to what a previous article shared: “How beautiful the pie the owner paints during the interview is—saying that the future trend in business is e-commerce.” Although I’ve forgotten exactly what the owner said during the interview, it gave me roughly that kind of feeling.
At the second interview, there were two of us. They used slides to introduce the entire workflow and the e-commerce platform, then led us in picking and packing orders. We were deeply confused—wasn’t this supposed to be a second interview? So we asked whether this meant we had been hired. The supervisor said that if we were okay with it, that day would be our first day at work. The other woman said she already had a job, and because we hadn’t been informed in advance, we both had other plans scheduled. The supervisor explained that they had previously hired someone who said after working for a few days that the job was not suitable for them. I can understand that, but I still thought this process was very strange ^^;
The environment was indeed cluttered, but still acceptable. However, based on observing the entire handover (training) process, I felt that things were not really okay.
