This company is in the travel industry.
It is a subsidiary of Wanka Travel Agency.
This is not really a benefit—just a cautionary tale.
Now, let’s talk about the benefits.
Good natural lighting.
A square, well-proportioned layout.
Two restrooms: one for men and one for women.
Lightweight partition walls.
I can only mention some benefits that you might care about if you were buying an office.
If you’re interviewing for a customer service position,
don’t come. Seriously. Aside from the extremely high turnover,
you’ll also be looked down on by the sales team.
And, as far as I know,
the compensation is rock bottom.
If you want to work as customer service at this company, you might as well get a part-time job at McDonald’s.
If you’re interviewing for an engineering position,
I’ve seen their server room.
I don’t understand that equipment,
but I could tell that the cooling relies on a single electric fan—
the kind people use to blow air on themselves from the sofa or bed at home in summer.
Also, the senior manager of the IT department (am I phrasing this cautiously enough?)
previously berated one of my coworkers.
I genuinely think that’s unacceptable: an older man
swearing directly at a woman during a meeting.
I don’t believe he would treat the people under him any better.
If you’re interviewing for a position in the marketing department,
there are many senior colleagues in the marketing department,
especially the boss, who is a very senior veteran himself.
He is very willing to teach you as if you were his apprentice,
but the compensation is a little lacking.
It depends on the individual; I think marketing is okay—
if there are actually any coworkers.
