Pros

1. New graduates can gain some experience. Working at a book distributor allows you to understand the operating models and marketing practices of publishers and bookstores, but you should not stay for too long.

Cons

2. The longer you work at any job, the heavier the workload becomes. However, when the warehouse is short-staffed, administrative departments (such as editorial) are pulled in to help pick books. Helping out when you are not busy is no problem, but when you are busy, you have to help another department and then find time to do your own work—unless you find a way to refuse with an excuse.

3. Many colleagues like forming cliques. Even one supervisor does not act like a supervisor and likes badmouthing others. Many colleagues enjoy flattering people or being nice to popular or cute newcomers. If you are considered part of their clique, mistakes or sloppy work are treated as if nothing happened. But if you are not in the clique, even if you remain polite, they will gossip and speak badly about you behind your back whenever you make a mistake. Some senior colleagues do not get along with them and are often targeted.

4. It is a family business, and some colleagues are relatives of the boss.

5. One supervisor handles matters relatively fairly, and working under him is generally fine. However, because it is a family business, some people like to put on a supervisor's airs: when they make a mistake, nothing happens, but when you make one, they lecture you.

6. There are violations of the Labor Standards Act. The year-end bonus is actually paid from the employee welfare fund, and the monthly welfare contributions do not provide any benefits to employees.

7. Employees have to clean: taking turns sweeping and mopping the floors and cleaning the toilets. You also have to wait until after work to clean, all to save the cost of hiring a cleaner.

8. There are many miscellaneous administrative tasks, but you can be exposed to various types of books.

9. Favoritism is severe. You have to adjust to the interpersonal relationships yourself, and employee turnover is not low.

10. It is near a hypermarket area, so buying things at noon is very inconvenient. The lunch break is one hour, and employees with scooters still have to ride out to buy things.

11. Be sure to ask clearly about the salary and benefits.

12. You have to wear a uniform, and the uniform is very ugly. At the monthly meeting, all employees must sing a song before the meeting begins.
