The reception staff are “normal” people
A waste of time and absolutely terrible. The whole thing took about three hours, with less than five minutes actually spent interviewing me? Details below:
For about three hours, all they did was hype you up and tell you how great the company is: you don’t need to worry even if you don’t know anything, senior colleagues will help you succeed, and the company has great results and benefits.
Okay, I stayed there to properly learn about the company’s achievements and some of its stories. When it came time for the interview, it was actually a background investigation, not an interview at all. I encountered someone completely incompetent acting as the interviewer.
They asked how many properties my family owns and what my girlfriend does for work (they asked me the same question twice???), and then asked whether I was getting impatient.
Interviewer: Do your parents know you came to interview for a real estate agent position?
Me: They don’t know. I’m an adult, not a child, and I can decide for myself what I want to do. There’s no need to report everything to my parents, and they know I can handle things myself, so they don’t need to worry about me.
Interviewer: So you’re a very self-centered person who does whatever you want, is that right?
Me: I would call that being independent.
In summary, I seriously spent time there learning about how great the company supposedly is and wasted an entire afternoon. In the end, they clearly don’t respect people who come for interviews. After all that talk about how great the company is, how could someone conducting a background investigation ask such trash questions at such a low level? I knew right then that this person wasn’t listening to me at all because they asked the same question twice, and then they even asked whether I was getting impatient??? It was absolutely terrible. Doesn’t the interviewer also represent the image of the company? Someone of this low caliber is apparently qualified to work there, which says a lot about this company??
