There are really no advantages.
The boss has a great many lawsuits.
1. The final payment for the boat had not been paid, but he took the boat away without authorization. The shipyard wanted to sue him, while he kept claiming that the boat had defects. None of the boatbuilding technicians in Taiwan’s industry would help him appraise it; they all believed that the company should pay the balance and close the case. Yet the boss refused. A case from 2016 is still being dragged out to this day.
2. He sold products to the Ministry of National Defense under a contract stating that they were made in Taiwan, but the products were discovered to be made in mainland China. He has now been found guilty and sentenced to more than one year in prison, with a fine of nearly NT$300,000 per month payable in installments over 12 months.
3. In the Dadaocheng Wharf case, another vendor clearly won the bid in 2021, yet he kept claiming that the government agency’s tendering process was flawed. He hired lawyers to file administrative and civil lawsuits. Although building the operation from nothing is not easy, it still feels very difficult to win anything. Now he can only wait for the next successful bidder or for the government to force him out.
4. He even plans to sue people from government agencies. It is completely normal for the water and electricity to be cut off after the contract ends, but he insists on portraying it as the company not having asked Taiwan Power Company and Taiwan Water Corporation to cut off the water and electricity, and asks why government agencies are allowed to obstruct business operations.
5. Netizens posted about the actual situation on an online whistleblowing forum and were also sued for criminal defamation.
6. Labor and health insurance are reported at NT$22,000, and labor disputes with employees from 2018 onward still have not been resolved.
The boss makes enemies everywhere—with the government, vendors, and employees.
No matter how capable someone is, they will not stay at a company like this. It has already gone beyond ability. You work yourself ragged, but the pay is not high, so the cost-performance ratio is terrible.
Employees at the company are in dire straits every day. There is absolutely no room to catch their breath, and turnover is extremely high.
