It is true that there are all kinds of people—the same goes for employees and bosses. To speak frankly, my boss and the owner’s wife are warm-hearted. They even remind employees to take care of their health in hot and cold weather, and from time to time provide afternoon snacks. These may seem like small gestures, but they show that they genuinely care for employees as partners. Most bosses have serious big-head syndrome... but I have not seen anything like that at Qmomo.

The owner’s wife is constantly holding her phone and asking everyone what they want to eat, ordering meals for colleagues rather than asking someone to buy things for her and serve her. We all see her sincere and courteous attitude when discussing matters with employees. This warmth makes people genuinely willing to work hard together with the company. Sometimes it is not just the salary; treating people sincerely makes it easier to bring everyone together.

The company also has no so-called toxic overtime culture. Staying later does not mean that someone is considered more dedicated. Even when overtime is necessary, employees can submit an application on the same day, and the company pays overtime according to regulations. There are never situations here where a superior waits until just before the end of the workday to discuss documents with an employee, forcing them to stay and work overtime. As far as I know, one former senior manager was arrogant toward both superiors and subordinates. After repeated admonitions went unheeded, that person resigned. It was not a case of being kicked out simply because they were no longer useful. Many things cannot be judged solely by the outcome; regarding the process, justice is in the eyes of the people.

The company is still in a growth stage and, of course, is not yet perfect. That is precisely why it needs to spend money bringing in professionals to help reform it. If you join the company, the hope is that you can make value-adding improvements. This is the attitude that mature professionals should have toward work. The workplace is not a school, and no one is obliged to teach you everything. If you are smart, you should learn through practice, absorb knowledge, grow, and strengthen your own wings; only then will you be qualified to ask for a raise.
