If your mentor does not like you, there is a high chance that your probationary period will be extended by three months.

The company will probably arrange for you to start around the middle of the year~

There is a chance they will dismiss you at the end of the year, when you have just completed half a year, to save on severance pay.

Your mentor accounts for a significant proportion of your evaluation, so if you do not win them over during the first three months, you are probably screwed.
