A waste of time
The manager got the interview time wrong. When I arrived at the company at the scheduled interview time that day, I was immediately questioned about whether I had gone to the wrong building and was left outside. The first impression was already terrible. Later, I showed the employees the interview notification, but they still seemed skeptical. The manager or HR representative who arranged the interview had remembered the wrong time and thought my interview was the previous day, even though I only received the interview notification the day before and replied in the message, “See you tomorrow.” This was already ridiculous. After I went inside, the manager who was originally supposed to interview me was not there. Instead, another manager or the owner’s associate came to speak with me. Throughout the conversation, they barely seemed to listen to what I was saying. I mentioned the duties from my previous company three times, yet they asked at least twice what I did. It felt terrible. I understand that they may not be familiar with my professional field, but I came to the interview seriously; the least they could do was listen to me properly, right? I initially thought I would let it go since at least the conversation had ended. The manager also proactively told me that they would arrange another interview with the other manager who was originally supposed to interview me, and properly explain the job responsibilities and other details. However, nearly a week passed without any calls or messages. At first, I thought they might have forgotten, but by that point I already felt the whole situation was absurd. Then today, I went on the recruitment website and discovered that the company had viewed my résumé again today. I was completely stunned. It seemed they had no intention of contacting me. Overall, it felt like I had been scammed. I traveled a long way to get there, only to be treated this way before even entering the company. After reading other people’s reviews, I realized it was actually fortunate that they never contacted me. Even if they do contact me, I will not go back.
