A sweatshop in every sense of the word. During the interview, they made it sound nice, saying there would be no overtime, but in reality, documents had to be completed within the deadlines, and they used moral pressure to make you work overtime voluntarily. The starting salary was also low, and they would not pay a single cent in overtime pay. On top of that, you had to clean up the mess left by the previous employee, only to be criticized for being slow.
2. They made it sound nice at first by saying that everyone was like family, but they clearly favored senior employees. New hires were ostracized if they did not join in their supervisors’ conversations. In that respect, they really were a united family.
3. Salary increases were minimal. It is uncommon to be paid minimum wage in Taipei City while having job responsibilities similar to those of ordinary 30K–35K positions elsewhere.
