The company called to arrange an interview time and gave me the phone number of the interview contact. When I arrived at the location, I contacted the interviewer, but they said they weren’t there? I was completely confused—isn’t this the interview time we agreed on? They told me they weren’t on site and asked me to call another interviewer, but damn... the phone number they gave me was wrong. I even confirmed the number with them repeatedly, but it was still incorrect. I called the original interviewer back and told them that the person who answered said it wasn’t them and asked whether I had called the wrong number. The original interviewer then asked whether the person who answered was a woman. I said no, it was a man. I kept telling them that perhaps the phone number had been given incorrectly. Finally, they said they would ask the other person to contact me. I waited nearly half an hour, but no one called. I called back again to ask how long it would take for the other person to call, and they said they would contact them again and told me to wait, then hung up. I waited a while longer, and only then did the other person call. She told me that she also wasn’t on site and wanted to reschedule for another day.... This was an absolutely terrible experience. I was almost ready to swear. I replied directly, “This was an interview time and location arranged directly with your company, but none of your people were there? Why schedule the interview in the first place and make me come all this way for nothing?” Only then did she say that we could do a video interview instead.... A video interview... I was completely speechless.
