Working hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., so you can basically get a full night's sleep.
There is a salary review every year, but if employees do not negotiate, the boss may skillfully push their salaries down.
The year-end bonus is fixed at one month’s salary; even if the events make more money, it will not increase.
The company claims to be similar to a foreign company, but in reality, the boss is currently the only foreign national, so there is no need to worry too much about English.
The company’s cash flow is extremely precarious. As soon as the pandemic hit, it immediately ran into cash-flow problems and laid off all its employees, offering very little security.
The boss is highly emotional and, because their Chinese is poor, can barely understand current affairs in Taiwan, so their ideas may feel out of touch with society.
The standards for hiring employees are also extremely strange. You may encounter bizarre colleagues for half of the year—people with no common sense about work, who falsify accounts, or whose abilities do not meet the requirements, among other issues. The boss’s solution is not to replace these employees, but to make other employees take on their work instead (and then become even more bad-tempered), so the company’s turnover rate is extremely high.
This company has recently started hiring again. Job seekers should keep their eyes and ears open during interviews. At present, the company probably only has the boss and an executive assistant left (because of the layoffs mentioned above). If you join, you will effectively have to take on most of the work. In addition, the company appears to be in poor financial condition, and you may be pressured into accepting lower pay through unusual contract arrangements (such as fixed-term employment or hourly pay).
