I previously worked at a (military* branch). The supervisor required employees to clock in 10 minutes early, and the time clock had to be punched multiple times for the entry to be recorded. If your clock-in was not recorded, no one would remind you. There was no drinking water for employees; only hot water and ice were provided, so remember to bring your own water. The supervisor was extremely petty, and if they were in a bad mood, they would easily single you out. Customer complaints were common (including complaints about the supervisor). Promotion opportunities seemed limited: several employees took the promotion exam, and almost no one passed. Within a month, employees also had to use their off-hours to return to headquarters for classes (with no overtime pay). I also heard that refusing to attend would result in a pay deduction. The supervisor never considered the employees’ needs. Staff training was inconsistent.
