I interviewed for an overnight position, and the interviewer required me to explain my personal and family background in detail. They kept pressing me about various matters, forcibly prying into my privacy. They then asked why I had not continued in my previous job after leaving, and why I had not considered similar jobs. If I had considered them, would I have come all the way to your company for an interview just to chat?

Being questioned about my privacy made me extremely uncomfortable. I talked with the interviewer for about two hours before they finally started discussing the company’s benefits and salary. Only then did they tell us that night-shift employees must initially be trained on the day shift—generally for at least six months, and possibly more than a year. If I still could not get the hang of it, I might not be able to transfer to the overnight shift. I can understand all of that. Throughout the interview, they kept emphasizing how many projects the company had and how difficult everything was.

In the end, when I heard the salary, I immediately told them that I could not afford such an income due to my financial pressure, and ended the interview.

They wasted two hours of my time, pried into an excessive amount of private information, and subjected me to all kinds of difficult questioning.

They then told me that the company had laid off employees some time ago due to the impact of the pandemic, which was why they had only recently started opening up this position.
