A responsibility-based pay system; I only found out after working there for a month, when I received my salary.
After I told the boss, she repeatedly emphasized that it had definitely been mentioned during the interview.
But if I had known it was a responsibility-based system, I absolutely would not have taken the job, so I consider this claim extremely irresponsible.
I can't remember which year it was when I left, but the boss even brought up the content of the surveillance and audio monitoring.
I want to tell everyone here that audio monitoring is completely illegal in Taiwan.
Secretly recording another person's non-public activities, speech, conversations, or private body parts without cause, whether through audio recording, photography, video recording, or electromagnetic records, constitutes the crime of interference with privacy under Article 315-1, Item 2 of the Criminal Code. Illegally monitoring another person's communications also constitutes the crime of illegal wiretapping under Article 24 of the Communications Security and Surveillance Act.
What is even more unbelievable is that the boss seemed completely convinced that she was in the right.
She even asked me whether I wanted her to play the recordings for me.
If I were in that situation now, I would record it directly as evidence and then ask her to show me the recordings.
Next, I would film it and tell her that this was not only illegal but also extremely classless. All I can say is, thankfully I left.
