Pros

A few colleagues are easy to get along with

Cons

1. The boss only hires people who do not ask any questions during interviews. As soon as someone asks a question, they will either be reconsidered or not hired.

2. The boss's wife has no issues when handing work over with a colleague. After the colleague resigns, however, she says that everything the colleague handed over was incorrect, resulting in having to relearn all the handed-over SOPs. She also constantly presses for personal information; even after you no longer want to answer, she keeps asking. She repeatedly asks the same questions, and when things do not go as she wishes, she keeps muttering complaints nearby. It is recommended that only people with 300% patience apply.

3. After I had been employed for a week, the company still had not enrolled me in labor and health insurance. After I proactively asked, the boss stammered that he would enroll me that day, explaining that he was worried employees might leave after working only a few days, making the process of enrolling and then withdrawing them troublesome. At the time, he also told me that labor insurance could not be backdated to my first day of employment. The boss insisted that it could and even asked me, “What would happen if it couldn’t be backdated?” Yet that afternoon, he changed his story and said, “I didn’t know labor and health insurance regulations had changed like this. Why can’t it be backdated?” This shows that the company lacks basic knowledge of the Labor Standards Act.

4. One morning, all employees were called together supposedly to explain the leave policy, but in reality it was to publicly shame a departing employee. The employee was called ungrateful simply for asking about annual leave and labor and health insurance. The boss also openly told employees that he had no intention of following the Labor Standards Act because he felt it had loopholes. For example, someone who starts work on 2020/5/1 should have seven days of annual leave by 2021/5/1, but the company calculates leave proportionally from 2020/5/1 to 2021/1/1, meaning the employee does not receive the full seven days until 2022/1/1. The company believes this calculation is better than the Labor Standards Act and even says, “If you can’t accept it, then don’t work here.”

5. Labor and health insurance contributions are underreported based on a lower salary.

6. The work itself is relatively easy—packing and shipping orders and placing orders—but it requires lifting heavy items. You often end up sweating profusely after packing just one shipment. Even when the air conditioning is on, you have to see whether the boss’s wife feels hot. Although it is clearly hot, she turns off the air conditioning as soon as she feels cool.
