It may have been because of the pandemic, so the interview was conducted via Zoom video. It went fairly well and ended after a simple conversation lasting a little over ten minutes. They mainly asked whether I had experience with shipping, whether I knew what kind of company they were, and whether I could work long term.

I applied without checking Tianyan Tong at the time. I only found out later that it was a terrible company. However, since I was only applying for a short-term shipping assistant position and they had called to invite me to an interview, I thought, “It’s okay, I’ll just go to the interview and see.”

The interview process was okay, but although they clearly stated on 104 that they were looking for someone short term, during the interview they asked, “Can you work long term?” and said they hoped I could work long term. This made me wonder: if that was the case, why write “short term” in the first place? They could have simply stated that they were looking for someone long term, instead of wasting time interviewing people seeking short-term work and wasting both parties’ time.

That was pretty much the only thing I found annoying. Other than that, there was nothing much to say; the process was smooth and ordinary.

I received an email notifying me that I had not been selected about three days later.
