Pros

Pros

The work environment is clean, and you can listen to music (This may sound ordinary, but I really couldn’t think of anything else).

Cons

Cons

1. Typhoon days off are unpaid.

2. The supervisor’s statements are inconsistent. The salary discussed during the interview differs from the actual salary, and you may not necessarily receive the promised amount upon completing the probationary period.

3. The company uses a clock-in system for starting work but a responsibility-based system for ending work. Overtime pay is only provided if the supervisor approves it (the prerequisite is that the supervisor acknowledges it as overtime; otherwise, it is considered a lack of ability on your part, meaning you could not finish the work on time and had to stay behind on your own).

4. Information flow among the supervisors is likewise poor.

5. The boss has a different definition of the year-end bonus from the general public. The boss considers it a bonus to reward colleagues for working harder in the coming year, rather than compensation for your hard work during the period you worked at the company. Therefore, if you have worked for less than a year, the bonus is not paid proportionally—in other words, you receive nothing. However, year-end bonuses are discretionary benefits in the first place, so if you care a lot about year-end bonuses, you may want to skip this company.

6. Ask clearly during the interview: What is the base salary? What is the total monthly salary? (Protect yourself—after all, we all work hard to earn a living.)

P.S. There is quite a large difference between the full salary and the base salary shown on the pay slip. I am not sure whether the company uses only the base salary when calculating its pension contributions (because this affects the pension; plainly speaking, it may mean reporting a lower salary than the actual one). However, they also do not count meal allowances or transportation subsidies, in addition to the base salary, as compensation earned through work, which could be considered exploiting a loophole in the law.

Base salary + meal allowance + transportation subsidy = full salary (the salary originally discussed)

*The insured salary for Labor Insurance is reported by the insured unit based on the employee’s total monthly salary, in accordance with the “Labor Insurance Insured Salary Classification Table.” Therefore, in addition to the base salary, overtime pay, various allowances, bonuses, and so on must all be included in the calculation of the total monthly salary as long as they constitute compensation received for work.*
