Pros

HR strongly encouraged me to come in, saying it would be good to take a look, which made me feel highly valued.

Cons

I was invited to the Taipei office for an interview. The interviewer was male. The following are several issues that the headquarters should review.

1. The interviewer repeatedly interrupted me during the conversation and had a flippant attitude. I did my best to remain polite throughout, but in reality, just five minutes into the interview, he already seemed eager to end it and leave.

2. I was given only five minutes to introduce my thesis, so I could explain only the core points roughly. However, the interviewer did not seem interested in understanding it and asked questions unrelated to the thesis, which felt extremely disrespectful. I have lived in Europe and can understand British, Russian, Indian, French, and Australian accents, but I genuinely could not understand the interviewer’s accent when he insisted on using English terms to ask about my thesis. As a result, I could not understand his questions, yet the interviewer assumed that I did not understand my own thesis.

3. I traveled a long way to interview at your company, only to realize within the first five minutes that I would not be hired and that the interviewer was not interested! As a matter of courtesy, I sincerely asked about your company and the position, but received responses such as, “You don’t need to understand that” and “You don’t need to understand this either.”

4. I am not lacking other job opportunities. However, for an interviewee who is not yet a company employee and was strongly invited by HR to come to the office for an interview, encountering this kind of situation is unacceptable. I hope your company will carefully examine the seriousness of this issue. Even if an interviewee is not an ideal candidate, they should still be treated with respect during the interview; the interview should not end as though the person is being hurried out. I hope your company can improve.
