Pros

None at all, just being mistreated

Cons

Most of the senior employees are very difficult to get along with… they don’t properly train new hires.

During my second week, one of them told me to stop asking questions and figure things out myself. After teaching me something once, I asked to confirm whether it was the same as my understanding, and they responded in a very harsh tone, saying, “Can you write it down?” (I really did take notes; I just wanted to confirm that my understanding was correct. I don’t like making mistakes and then wasting time redoing things correctly.) But during the interview, they asked whether I would be afraid to ask questions. When I did ask, their tone was still unpleasant and they told me to figure it out myself.

Once, the person training me said that the shared drive was down and told me to log everyone out first, adding that if I needed any data, I could just send it by email.

Since we ordered lunch through the shared drive…

I asked, “What about lunch, then?”

They replied, “It’s down, so we can’t place the order…”

The next day, I asked a colleague sitting nearby whether the shared drive was down.

The colleague replied, “…No, I’m still using it!!”

My coworkers in the same department didn’t help me place the order or pay any attention to me. Someone from another department noticed that I hadn’t ordered anything and came over to ask what was wrong. I responded loudly and very bluntly, “XXX said the shared drive was down, so we couldn’t place the lunch order.”

Every time I entered the items into Excel (including the quantities and serial numbers), I checked the quantities N times. I also counted everything at least twice, and checked the data again while entering it. After confirming that everything was correct, I emailed the Excel file to them. Yet the next day, one item would always be missing, and they would ask me to look for it in the warehouse. After I searched all day until almost the end of my shift, they would calmly say, “Look, you entered this incorrectly.” Because of this, I even asked N former colleagues who had worked with me for four years, “Did I used to keep entering things incorrectly like this?” (Entering the wrong information or accidentally entering the wrong price can be extremely serious and troublesome, so I have a habit of checking things many times and keeping evidence that the mistake wasn’t mine.)
