智擎數位科技股份有限公司
Pros

1. For an editorial position, this company does indeed offer relatively high pay to editors.

2. You can work from home, which seems to allow flexible use of your time.

Cons

1. The workload is too heavy. When working from home, the daily working hours are approximately 9–10 hours.

2. English editors basically work independently, handling the entire process from start to finish: compiling topics and organizing information; writing an English article according to the CEFR level; translating it into Chinese; creating reading, cloze, and listening comprehension tests based on the article; analyzing the article structure and key grammar points; recording the explanatory audio; editing it according to the format required by the website; uploading the article, test questions, and audio; and completing other tedious editorial tasks. Only then is “one article” considered complete, yet two articles must be produced each day, in addition to other administrative chores and supporting the writing of other articles. I dare say no one can complete all of the above work while lying at home asleep.

3. There is no year-end bonus. The company originally said that the year-end bonus would be determined according to KPI performance, but the KPI score is controlled by only one supervisor.

4. Taking any leave is treated as slacking off, whether it is sick leave, menstrual leave, or annual leave. I have even heard that menstrual leave was prohibited.

5. Suggestions and requests from the editorial department are rarely taken into consideration. We can only continually accept the workload and changes imposed by senior management—if we do not accept them, we are told to leave. As a result, we are rushing to finish articles every day and have no opportunity to optimize the content.

6. The supervisor has professional expertise but no management ability and is merely a mouthpiece for senior management.

7. The content of the other negative reviews and suggestions on Tiandyan is all true. Moreover, the editorial department’s starting point has always been the hope that the company will improve. However, looking at those aggressive responses—and the fact that employees’ emails were even posted directly—I believe everyone can make their own judgment.
