To begin with, I’m talking about the IT department. The only thing that made me happy there was having a good manager. Whenever something happened, the manager would take full responsibility; when faced with difficult problems, they would work with you to solve them. They provided guidance and were responsible and conscientious. Unfortunately, another manager forced them to leave the company through internal power struggles. It was a great pity, so the company no longer has any advantages.
The salary the company offers newcomers is laughable. New hires are paid around 30,000 or less (about the same as at 7-ELEVEN), while even experienced employees only earn around 50,000, unless they have a very good relationship with certain managers.
It is a responsibility-based system, and you will be required to work overtime if you do not finish your work. Basically, if a project is somewhat urgent, leaving work after 10 p.m. every day is normal, and you can only exchange the overtime for compensatory leave.
The company used to make money by selling accounts-receivable systems for banks to use, but it is no longer as profitable as it once was. As a result, the IT department is no longer valued as highly as before. Now they are doing something called Li X Duo in mainland China, an investment product that increasingly feels like a pyramid scheme.
Newcomers should not waste their time joining either. There is not much advanced technology to learn there. As for experienced veterans… other places should offer better待遇.
