Pros

The interviewer repeatedly emphasized that overtime would be required and was very open about it~

(During the interview) You first fill out a form, but there is no test. It is very much like writing out your work experience and résumé all over again. Once you finish, you tell the receptionist, and someone will come in to interview you. They ask about your previous work experience,

then ask whether you know what the company does, as well as its business model and current situation. They hope to develop employees, meaning that assistants are at the first level, and the longer they stay, the more they can advance based on their own effort and ability to learn. In addition, there is no fixed salary system. If the boss thinks your abilities are pretty good, they will give you a raise. At the end, they said that if they were satisfied after the interview, they would arrange a second interview with the boss.

The company is mainly responsible for government tenders and brands, and emphasizes that overtime is common (actually, this is quite normal when working on events or planning). Assistants also have to help with many miscellaneous tasks, including organizing the warehouse and so on (or rather, if you initially know how to do nothing, and as an assistant you do not handle miscellaneous tasks, what are you supposed to do?)

Cons

1. I went all the way there, yet they said there would still be a résumé screening and another interview.

2. Working in event planning definitely, definitely involves overtime. It is irregular and unpredictable in terms of timing and amount, so they cannot estimate it or tell you that you will not need to work overtime.

3. If you want a raise, you only have the opportunity to get one if “someone notices and feels your contribution” (this is way too vague). They also said that the company has plans for each position, and that eventually one person might be responsible for one project.
