A former employee who suddenly came across this was reminded of all the anger inside and immediately decided to burn these tragic memories into words and make them public.
The general manager is a very nice person, and everyone else is nice too—except for the two “senior female managers” on the AM Team who have something seriously wrong with them.
Before the interview, HR will tell you how ambitious the company is, how much it values employees’ learning, that it will not make employees work overtime, and that it offers reasonable salaries and benefits.
But after you start working, you will gradually discover that the training resources are outdated and completely useless even if you read them. Everything is still taught personally by senior colleagues, and the resources are fake. Even if they told you before the interview how capable the general manager is and how knowledgeable she is, that has nothing to do with you. She has no time to deal with you and works in a different location, so don’t expect to learn anything from her—but, as general manager, that part is not her fault.
The fault lies with the two most senior female managers on this company’s AM Team, whose minds are seriously messed up. They are extremely selfish and self-righteous. When people discuss matters with them, they are already furious yet still grin and act as if they are being humorous and entertaining. They think being a manager makes them superior. It is apparently fine when they go around in circles, but not when others do it. They waste a huge amount of time discussing important matters, and after finally reaching a conclusion, they keep changing it back and forth. Every time they say they want to change direction, all of us have to work ourselves to the bone again. What exactly do they want? They both seem to have amnesia. They are incredibly stupid. It does not matter to them anyway—they only have to talk; they are not the ones actually handling the details. The time wasted is not theirs either. They are unbelievably selfish, yet they think they are the most capable, the company’s pride and backbone. Many new employees have worked with them, failed to adapt, and eventually left. Of course, that leaves only the two of them, so naturally they think they are the best. The problem is fundamentally with them. Every day, all they do is think about how to review the hiring system, replace the recruitment copy, make candidates go through a three-day interview process, and complete some kind of new-hire training. No amount of additional training will help! If the general manager of this company truly wants it to expand, she should first seriously review that team of yours—the two “senior colleagues” who have something seriously wrong with them! When the commanders are incompetent, the entire army suffers. They change orders constantly while still grinning and acting carefree. They are truly terrible.
I bet that when you see this comment someday, you will only respond with a confused “What the hell?” because “a horse doesn’t know how long its face is” perfectly describes the situation. General manager, don’t take it too hard when you see this. This is the reason your internal organization cannot expand. As long as your two senior colleagues continue serving as managers, talent in your department will continue to leave. All your efforts are being drained away by the people below you!
