Pros

The company doesn’t do the influencer thing. Some videos that appear to have very poor view counts have exceptionally good conversion (purchases), which has also given me a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship. Every detail across the entire company is optimized with a profit-oriented mindset. It can truly be called a model of lean entrepreneurship. I previously worked at some video and PR companies and saw bureaucratic systems and projects undertaken just to save face, and I really had no idea what the hell I was rushing around for back then.

Max really takes good care of people. Although he rarely comes into the office, there was once a nightclub event where a female colleague from the company got drunk. He immediately put aside whatever he was doing for fun and, together with other colleagues, took her to a safe place to rest. It was only that day that I learned that a so-called “drunk body” is really damn heavy—a woman needs three men to carry her. Also, this really taught me some of the finer points of entrepreneurship: Max even told us to record the entire process on video right then and there. He said it was to protect each of our rights; otherwise, being misunderstood would be embarrassing. You could say I received a real on-the-spot lesson that day.

Also, Max is really generous when giving rewards. Once, I was doing a follow-along shoot. It was actually already after work, but Max hoped I would finish filming and asked whether I was willing to do it. I did finish the shoot, but Max directly gave me double that day’s compensation as a bonus, which caught me completely off guard.

Cons

The boss comes into the office less often, so if you want to learn and find hidden gems, make sure to seize opportunities to spend time with Max.

Although the rewards are genuinely pretty good, I’ve heard that Max can also be very ruthless when punishing people. I haven’t experienced it myself, but just don’t cross the company’s red lines.
