The interview process began with filling out an exhaustive personal-history résumé. After finishing it, I waited half an hour before taking a test. Once it was completed, the overall feeling was that I had just arrived at the workplace and, without knowing what was going on, somehow finished the interview. Next, the boss came to discuss the compensation; he started by saying, “So, this is what you were doing before,” and then went on about how things are in southern Taiwan… “If you can accept this, we’ll discuss it further afterward.”
