The person was an engineer at the company and recently resigned to pursue a career opportunity at a company in the Central Taiwan Science Park (returning home). Based on the company’s average employee salary and benefits system, compensation should be above Taiwan’s median level. Regarding the many critical and negative comments on this website, job seekers are asked to view them objectively. Based on the person’s experience while employed:
1. The closure of the company’s Taichung office was an operational policy decision. Communication regarding layoffs complied with the Labor Standards Act, and corresponding severance pay was provided.
2. Interviews taking too long: The person’s own interview process consisted of two sessions, each lasting less than an hour, so they did not encounter this issue.
3. Overtime: Overtime was not mandatory, and all overtime was compensated with equivalent overtime pay. Salary was calculated based on full pay, so there should be nothing improper about it.
4. Cost-cutting and efficiency: Every company should consider its costs, so it was not as stingy as some online commenters claim.
5. Additional information: The company provides free snacks and unlimited access to premium hand-brewed coffee. Working hours are flexible, so it should not be as bad as some online commenters claim. A few free afternoon teas per month are quite common, as are department gatherings and similar activities. Job seekers are asked to make their own informed judgment.
Better than some, but not as good as others.
