Online, they use this company’s name, but it actually has another name as well. I only found out after being hired that it was a matchmaking agency. There were two interviews. During the first, the interviewer just kept talking and talking, introducing what the company does and so on. I had to fill out the company’s résumé form and take a personality test. Then, during the second interview, they asked me to participate in an event—just participate, nothing more. To be honest, since I was a woman, they asked me to make up the numbers. Most of the attendees were basically socially awkward men. Then they said I was hired. On the first day, they kept talking about the company’s achievements and so on, and only afterward told us that we were supposed to go on dating apps to chat with socially awkward men, get them to come to the company to participate in events, and collect an annual fee of what seemed to be around NT$45,000. Later, I felt that this was too deceptive, so I quickly left.
The actual job duties were completely different from what was posted online, and I felt deceived.
