Cons

Position interviewed for: Printing Process Engineer

I waited 30 minutes for the interview, but the HR specialist and HR manager apologized and explained that they were late because their meeting ran over.

Job responsibilities: Adjusting process parameters for new products. The types of machines include two main categories: digital and screen printing.

Shift requirements: HR stated that during the first six months to one year, the employee would learn on the production line and need to work the graveyard shift (8:30 PM–4:00 AM) to learn on the production line, alternating every month. The hiring manager emphasized that the employee would definitely rotate shifts for about a year.

Q: Is the need to rotate shifts for training because the day- and night-shift production lines do not overlap?

A: In fact, they do overlap. The main purpose of rotating shifts is to become familiar with the on-site environment, so that the production operators would not ignore your instructions in the future.

Benefits: The company has established an employee welfare committee, and provides small gift bonuses for the three major festivals.

Annual leave: In accordance with the Labor Standards Act.

Monthly salary structure: Base salary + professional allowance.

Overtime pay: In accordance with the Labor Standards Act, calculated based on the full salary.

Graveyard-shift allowance: NT$200 per day!!!

Salary adjustments: The HR manager stated that there are no regular salary adjustments. The hiring manager stated that there would be no salary adjustment during the first three years. The HR specialist emphasized that there may be an opportunity for a raise in cases of outstanding performance.

Annual salary structure: 12 months of salary + performance bonus (expected value: one month of full salary) + year-end bonus (fixed at one month of base salary) + profit sharing (average: two months of full salary; may be higher or lower depending on individual performance).

Compensation: I have a master's degree in chemistry and five years of partially relevant experience. They initially offered NT$40,000, later adjusting it to NT$50,000.
