大江生醫股份有限公司(TCI CO., Ltd)
Pros

Many colleagues are interesting and easy to get along with. Perhaps because of the high work pressure, it is easy to develop a strong sense of camaraderie. When friends and family hear the company’s name, they think it has good prospects because it is publicly traded. The company places great emphasis on appearances; at least in areas visible to outsiders, it presents itself as very good, excellent, and impressive.

Cons

The working hours are extremely long. I have worked on holidays to assist with external exhibitions organized by the company, without receiving either compensatory leave or overtime pay. On regular workdays, it is also common to work past 8 p.m. (the scheduled hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but in reality, they are completely different), and apart from dinner when working overtime, there is absolutely no overtime pay or compensatory leave. This situation is widespread at the northern headquarters; over time, everyone starts to regard not working overtime as abnormal. In addition, some colleagues frequently have to travel to Pingtung for work. They usually have to get up in the early morning to catch the high-speed rail south, without receiving any business-trip allowance or meal allowance. Transportation expenses can be reimbursed based on actual receipts, and accommodation is provided in company-arranged dormitories, but employees have to bear the additional travel time caused by these temporary assignments themselves. Department transfers are very arbitrary. The stated purpose is to cultivate future managers and supervisors, but careful observation reveals that these frequent transfers create significant problems: project handovers are not completed in time, and employees being rotated must spend time adapting to the affairs of new departments. Not to mention that the employee’s expertise, background, and willingness are almost never taken into consideration when making transfers. This creates substantial internal personnel costs and may also be one reason for the high turnover rate. As for whether you will learn anything at this company, personally, I believe that if you already have a certain level of expertise or extensive education and work experience, you do not need to waste your time here. After joining, all kinds of miscellaneous tasks and strange responsibilities will crowd out the projects where you truly want to demonstrate your abilities. Even if a project is fortunate enough to achieve some results, it will quickly attract the attention of other managers, who will move projects with higher chances of success to their own departments or directly insert themselves into them. Then other cases unrelated to your area of expertise, or extremely difficult ones, will come in, and you will find yourself doing a lot of work, yet not a single task is directly related to your KPIs.
