Interview experience, without separating pros and cons, summarized as follows.
This month, I applied for a UI/UX Designer position through a staffing agency via 104 Job Bank. I spoke first with the department manager and then with HR. After the interviews, the art director who happened to be visiting from the U.S. headquarters at the time thought that having me start two months after receiving an offer was too long, so it was a no-go. I didn't get to practice English with a foreigner after all O.O.
Although the staffing agency said the position was long-term, with a performance review opportunity after just three months and a high chance of becoming a regular employee, the entire interview process and the reason I wasn't hired made me feel that this was actually only a short-term opening:
When I asked about the probationary-period evaluation criteria, the department manager replied, “It depends on work attitude, work results, and whether the company has opened up this position. I can only say that there is an opportunity, but it isn't guaranteed.” (Then he lowered his head, so he wasn't facing me.)
When I asked whether there would be situations where leave requests were denied, the department manager also responded with the mindset that it was only a three-month short-term position.
Both the department manager and HR said that this was an urgent opening. HR said that if they decided to proceed, there would be a result within one or two days (which I assume meant they would send an offer), but I was rejected on the spot after the interview XD
I have one year and seven months of experience in web/UI design. They considered me not yet senior, and my requested salary of 58K was cut, so I estimate it would be somewhere between 50K and 58K. I wonder whether the compensation would be better without going through a staffing agency?
