The design assistant is pitiful; you’ll want to complain to them more so that carrying out the work isn’t as frustrating.
I’m a partner, and it’s clear that the design assistant and the designers who are just starting to take on projects have received no training at all.
This makes it very difficult to carry out work on site; communication is extremely poor, causing delays, unclear instructions, and complete chaos at the site.
When the designer isn’t on site, the contractors still have to explain the reasons to the client. The designer doesn’t understand the contractors’ techniques,
and even has to dump the work on the contractors. They call the contractors at midnight to discuss the drawings.
Your superiors may be putting pressure on you, but we also need rest. Employee training needs to be strengthened.
The designer constantly says, “I’ll ask the director,” no matter what the situation is. It’s really unclear how much flexibility the designer has to work independently and make decisions autonomously.
No one works like this.
