Pros 1. The boss is an upright person, so there is no need to worry about the company being hollowed out. Credit and blame are clearly distinguished, and if there is any unfairness, you can appeal directly to him. In addition, he takes good care of employees and will not discriminate against you just because you are a newcomer or a low-level administrator.
Pros 2. After all, the company is in the education business and can also be considered a social enterprise in part. Therefore, every year it subsidizes tuition for children from disadvantaged families and helps them turn their lives around despite difficult circumstances. Most importantly, unlike some companies that engage in charity work merely for publicity, Taiwan Knowledge Bank has genuinely done many good deeds that go unnoticed. So everyone working here gets to share in a little good karma~ Haha.
Pros 3. The company is developing steadily and gains a first-mover advantage in blue-ocean opportunities by observing market changes. It is not easily affected by changes in the overall environment, so working here is like working for a government agency.
Anyone who has worked here, please reply too—don’t let young people go astray~ I previously worked in the e-commerce department. The most serious problem in this unit was that it had two people giving orders. On the surface, we supposedly reported to the general manager, but in reality, everything had to be done according to the orders of a certain senior figure. The key point is that this person was not even part of our unit... Because of his presence, many excellent colleagues left. He also often talked behind people’s backs, making our department the target of the entire company’s criticism. His personality was eccentric: employees’ bathroom breaks were timed, and even making an urgent phone call meant being monitored. Even after work, we were instructed not to clock out on time. It was like the White Terror. Many things were based on unfounded suspicions, and everyone was told to do this and that without any logic, making it very difficult for everyone to work and communicate with him! To summarize, ambitious young people should choose carefully~
Con 1. Two people giving orders: The general manager was merely a figurehead, and everything had to follow the orders of a certain senior figure.
Con 2. Related to the above: This resulted in an extremely high employee turnover rate, while dissatisfaction with the senior figure could only be kept to oneself.
Con 3. Related to the above: This is why the unit’s work was always stuck in an awkward middle ground, and many projects were even abandoned after only being half completed.
