A chaotic company; every department I came into contact with had problems.

Every day, there were issues with the license-plate recognition system at the stations. Recognition errors had already become normal to the information technology department and were not considered abnormal, so there was no need to report them for repair. However, it was also common for monthly rental cars to be unable to enter, or for customers to be unable to leave after paying. In addition, one station tested a new license-plate recognition system, but still could not get it working after more than a month of testing, causing the station staff to be berated by customers every day.

For a company, the most important thing is its “accounting,” but the results of the accounting department’s settlements did not match the reports from the stations, and unbelievably, no one investigated why. The accounting continued to be chaotic day after day and month after month.

The position I originally applied for and discussed in the interview was “assistant manager,” with a salary of x ten-thousand. However, the employment notice listed the position as “assistant station manager,” while the salary was still stated as x ten-thousand. Human Resources said that was just the initial job title and that it would be adjusted later. However, the salary I actually received became o ten-thousand, which was equivalent to the salary of an ordinary administrator. Human Resources only said that it had been miscalculated and that they would make up the shortfall later. It is easy to notice if several thousand dollars are missing, but what if it is only a few hundred or a few dozen dollars and goes unnoticed?

Moreover, they originally said there would be a three-month probationary period, after which both the “salary” and “position” would be adjusted. However, because x ten-thousand was already the salary of an ordinary station manager, it became a situation where only the position would be promoted to official station manager, while the salary would not increase further.
