The interviewer was reasonably attractive.

The interviewer acted very high and mighty. She interrupted my brief two-minute self-introduction no fewer than five times—and on top of that, kept raising her eyebrows with a look of contempt and repeatedly asking, “What are you talking about?” How was I supposed to answer the questions properly?

There’s nothing wrong with cutting the expected salary, but looking down on someone’s education and work experience is unacceptable. Even if you think the applicant’s qualifications don’t match the position, there’s no need to say, “With your education and experience, this is all you’re worth.” My annual salary at my previous job was 150K more than what you offered. I really don’t understand what there was to be so high and mighty about.

If you only want to pay a low salary for an employee who is, in your words, willing to do anything and capable of everything, then please adjust your attitude. Still, does a manager of this caliber suggest that the company itself has problems too?
