1. There are plenty of bonuses and Welfare Committee allowances for the three major holidays each year.
2. Overall, the office environment is not too bad.
1. The base salary is so low that you might as well change jobs. The contract does not guarantee a year-end bonus either. Basically, it all depends on which department you end up in: if you get along with your supervisor and the department, everything goes smoothly; if not, you’d better stay on your toes.
2. You work overtime to death. It only counts as overtime when the company agrees that it is; otherwise, it is considered the employee’s problem. Overtime pay comes out of the department’s budget. Since departments do not want to bear the additional expense, they force employees to take compensatory leave.
3. Many long-tenured employees are not very technically capable and have poor work attitudes, yet they expect others to respect them. However, because they are familiar with senior management, no one can do anything about them.
