Pros

The restroom was clean, and the pen wrote well.

The person who guided me when I got lost was very kind.

Cons

This is my personal interview experience and may contain subjective impressions.

-

I applied for a marketing position.

There was first a written test on marketing strategy.

While answering, I had the impression that the marketing department might be looking for marketing ideas in applicants’ responses.

It was also possible that they were assessing whether the interviewee had a sense of marketing.

After completing the written test, I introduced my marketing strategy to the interviewer (who took notes at this point).

The interviewer asked very detailed questions about the marketing strategy. I personally felt that I failed to address the key points and did not really get to the heart of the matter.

The interview, initially announced as lasting 2.5 hours, dragged on for 3 hours.

It felt lengthy and unproductive because I was doing all the talking, while the other party offered little feedback beyond asking questions.

A story from my friend:

My friend was proactively invited by the HR department at MixerBox to have a Skype interview.

After the Skype interview, my friend was told that they were not a suitable fit and was politely rejected.

However, within ten minutes of the rejection,

my friend received another invitation for a Skype interview from a different HR representative at the same company.

I was completely dumbfounded.

Is the pressure on HR to meet performance targets really that intense?

Overall:

The interview process felt like they were simply going through the motions and completing the formalities.

There was not much to gain from it.
