The advantage is probably that it gives you plenty of room to express yourself.

The interview really lasted forever. They asked about everything from my education to graduation, every job I had held, and the details of my work.

They asked about my family situation and an enormous number of details—so many that I didn’t know how to answer.

It felt like being interrogated by a prosecutor. They were truly absurdly thorough.

Also, based on my experience in sales, they didn’t seem very serious about hiring new employees.

Yet they kept asking about this and that, making the interview extremely long. It felt as if they were trying to obtain personal information or simply using the time to pass the time at work.

At the end, they told me that they still had to interview other candidates and that the interviews were already scheduled through next Friday (I interviewed on Wednesday).

After finishing all the interviews next Friday, they would still need another week to discuss whom to hire.

So if I wait for them, I won’t know the result until two weeks from now.

Is this a new way of turning someone down, or do they really have that many people to interview?
