I arrived about 10 to 15 minutes early, but they complained that I had arrived too early because the previous interviewee, who was late, had arrived later. I saw the late interviewee sitting at the entrance filling out forms, and I also saw them let the late interviewee interview first.

I was left waiting at the entrance for over half an hour. The receptionist kept saying, “Why did you come so early when you had nothing to do?” They said this to me about three times. In the end, I even saw the receptionist temporarily pull over some passerby—I don’t know who he was—who had been wandering around while waiting for an interview, and ask him to interview me. The passerby looked annoyed, as if asking why he had been called, and then, with a sour expression, told me to go with him. As soon as we went inside, he directly said, “We… don’t need to waste each other’s time. We care a lot about punctuality, you know. You can leave.”

I had spent less than a minute with that passerby, and after saying that, he immediately told me to leave. What do they mean by saying they care a lot about punctuality? Is my time not time? The time I spent commuting to the interview doesn’t count as time? The previous interviewee was late and wasted my time, and the more than half an hour I was left waiting at the entrance doesn’t count as time?

Isn’t arriving early for an interview basic common sense and courtesy? After I got home, I received a message from them saying that, due to the supervisor’s considerations, they could not hire me. But there was never a supervisor who interviewed me from beginning to end.
