Large personal workspace with a high degree of freedom
Pros
Large personal workspace with a high degree of freedom
Cons
Violations of the Labor Standards Act
NT$1,000 deducted for each day of absence (including personal leave and typhoon days, excluding annual leave)
No menstrual leave
Annual leave is calculated only once a year
The 104 job posting stated that there was one employee dinner per month, but there was none
The monthly salary agreed upon during the interview already included perfect-attendance pay (NT$2,000)
If a monthly salary of NT$25,000 was discussed without clarifying the perfect-attendance pay, the monthly salary would be NT$23,000 excluding perfect-attendance pay
After working for one year, there is a one-month year-end bonus, but the year-end bonus is only one month of the Labor Standards Act basic salary of NT$23,000, not one month of the individual’s monthly salary
Overtime pay is calculated based on the basic salary of NT$23,000, at NT$133 per hour. The boss’s wife said that this was already an additional amount
The boss sends messages on LINE incessantly late at night. Even when taking annual leave, employees may still be asked by the boss to work and send back the results
Employees are suddenly asked by the boss to work overtime, or are told within two hours before the end of the workday to launch a limited-time special offer or upload a promotional campaign
This leaves employees scrambling and exhausted
The boss’s wife is extremely rude and does not understand how the team operates or the rules
When the boss’s wife assigns tasks and employees explain that they cannot be completed because of system issues, she only says, “Why?” and “I don’t know either—what should we do?”
She can even be aggressively pushy while employees are working, making demands and asking questions that are beyond ordinary comprehension
Everything depends on the boss to clean up the mess, take care of the aftermath, and handle the interpersonal side of things
When the office work has come to an end, employees may still be asked to help ship orders if the shipping volume is high
The boss says, “Everyone should help one another.”
At the end of last year, the boss began operating a Korean group-buying and proxy-purchasing business. The boss said that all the steps and procedures had already been planned
But the large shipping bags needed for dispatch had not even been ordered in advance. Advertisements and extended advertising campaigns had to be arranged at the last minute
The veteran employees complain about the boss every day, but take no action, allowing the boss to do whatever they want and not reporting them
If anyone can stay at a company like this, I admire them :)
