Since the company was founded, its benefits have continuously been reduced. Many announcements are concealed from employees and not disclosed. Employees are even threatened by management when they ask for announcements to be made public.
Starting at the end of 2017, the company began manufacturing independently at its Taiwan plant, resulting in a large number of production problems. Management, however, was unwilling to address the root causes and only told workers to work overtime to increase the number of machines produced. They repeatedly promised that this would only be for a short time, but the consecutive overtime continued for nearly the entire year of 2018. Workers averaged more than 46 hours of overtime per month, with some working as many as 80 hours per month. If the Bureau of Labor Insurance had not conducted a labor inspection in January 2019, this situation likely would have continued.
Whenever employees disagree with or challenge management, management uses every means available to dismiss them. Even more outrageously, some employees are forced to "voluntarily resign." Employees who report unfavorable information about management to the head office are called into the office, after which they are seen packing up their belongings and leaving half an hour later, completely disregarding workers' rights.
Benefits are never reduced with advance notice to employees. When employees voice objections, violent methods are used to suppress them (such as "voluntary" resignation, verbal abuse, and confidential meetings in small rooms). Employees who report problems have even been cursed to their faces as "damn bastards."
For the sake of the number of machines shipped each month, the company refuses to address problems even when supplier quality has already deteriorated. Production-line employees have to work such long hours to rush machine production because materials are not flowing smoothly and their quality is abnormal, but these problems remained completely unresolved from 2018 onward. The only solution has been to make employees work excessive overtime continuously.
Overall, the company's benefits have deteriorated to the point where they are no different from those of an ordinary company. As for violations of the Labor Standards Act, management currently dares not take any further action because it has been reported. There is no longer any reason to expect the supposedly better benefits of a foreign-owned company. Salaries are also not significantly different from those offered elsewhere. I recommend not coming here.
