Cons

A week after the applicant submitted their résumé, the company called and asked to speak by phone. During the call, they asked whether the applicant knew what the job involved and what their understanding of the position was. When the applicant described the job duties they remembered, the interviewer on the phone immediately replied, “That’s terrible.”

The applicant had not applied to only one company and could not clearly remember every detail of every position. However, before submitting a résumé, they always confirmed that they were capable of performing the job and met the qualifications. It was baffling that the company would directly dismiss the applicant with such negative language.

After reviewing the job posting again, it did not mention the duties described by the interviewer, such as handling advertising business and developing and maintaining new and existing clients. How could they simply say that the applicant was terrible?
