I applied and was assigned to a certain department in Electronics. One instructor there would threaten employees with performance reports and dismissal.
There was a morning assembly; they only stopped short of singing the national anthem. All that talk about the spirit of solidarity and working together was just bullshit.
Even yawning at work could get you written up on a performance report. This supposedly benevolent company has nine staffing agencies and is always short-staffed; someone quits every day.
The restaurant was damn far away. Going to work was like being in the military. There was even a Zhongshan Hall inside the factory—only a soldier's diary was missing.
The squad leader also formed factions behind people's backs. When I wanted to take leave to take my mother to the doctor, they replied, “Can’t your mother go see the doctor by herself?” The strictness of a Japanese company and this kind of fucking asshole supervisor are two completely different things, right...? We worked three hours of overtime every day—why don’t you come down and help instead of standing there mouthing off? Fuck.
