I currently work at this company and have been here for three months, so I’ll share some thoughts.

Before joining this company, I was a little alarmed when I saw the reviews, so I asked about it during the interview... HR said the company and a former employee had some issues. I didn’t ask what exactly happened; in any case, if I had asked, I probably would have heard only one side of the story from each party @@

After experiencing the company for the past few months, I’ve found that the boss is generous and straightforward, and often treats employees to meals or gives us food at irregular intervals (I’ve had high-end Japanese cuisine, Tofu Village, delivered pizza, hot pot, fried chicken snacks... and so on). I also heard that previous employees went on company trips to Japan and Kenting = =? I didn’t get to join...

During the interview, HR told me that the boss’s straightforward personality means he doesn’t like setting rules, which was why there had been disputes in the past. (My inner monologue: Even so, we still have to follow the rules properly, right?)

When I joined in the latter half of this year, I saw that the contract clearly stated the relevant regulations. Everything complies with the Labor Standards Act, and there are also workplace rules~ So there shouldn’t be any problems now.

Someone in one comment mentioned a troublemaker. I haven’t encountered one so far—maybe they’ve left?

Another comment mentioned that the boss is unprofessional and lacks strategy. All I can say is that the boss basically doesn’t interfere much; he only focuses on “finding money to support the employees.” It’s different from typical startups. I feel that the boss is also trying various things...

Although this isn’t his area of expertise, he has read many books, so if you discuss technical terms or startup concepts with him, he can understand them (such as LTV > 3CAC, Lean Startup, AARRR, etc.).

Personally, I think one major advantage here is the extremely high level of autonomy. If you have an idea you want to try, you can basically go ahead and do it and learn along the way. However, if you’re looking for a senior colleague to teach you step by step in a structured environment, this probably isn’t that kind of workplace~ It depends on what you prioritize.
