(Interview for Senior Digital Marketing Planner)
1) The salary is relatively good compared with many fashion e-commerce companies. If you have experience and confidence in taking on the position, the digital marketing department offers a year-end bonus equivalent to six months’ salary.
2) The boss’s requirements are generally clear: experience using GA and advertising platforms, experience as a social media editor, and being young (under 28 preferred). As a marketer, spending a little time on weekends monitoring ad performance and adjusting the copy or images when results are unsatisfactory is necessary (but I didn’t ask how much time it might take).
1) My résumé, experience, and portfolio had clearly not been reviewed before the interview. In fact, many companies have this problem; reviewing the résumé beforehand would save both the company manager and the interviewee a great deal of time.
2) As others have commented, they were quite dismissive of other brands or industries they were unfamiliar with. But it’s fine—comparing themselves with others and being confident and proud of their own brand can also be considered a good thing. (??
3) There may be age and marital-status discrimination (that is, they read through my résumé aloud as they looked at it instead of reviewing it beforehand; if they had concerns, they could simply have ruled me out from the start @@. Anyway, it also gave me an opportunity). In fact, I can understand the employer’s concern that a married woman might become distracted by giving birth or caring for children. However, as an employee, I am also quite concerned that taking time off for childbirth could make it difficult to continue in this job.
