Pros

1 Sometimes you can get free fried chicken, and even when it’s cold, it still tastes pretty good.

Cons

1. Employees are held to very strict standards and must follow the SOP exactly: dress and appearance, scripts, environmental cleanliness, etc. If you don’t do things properly, your performance rating is docked = no bonus; in serious cases, your pay is directly deducted.

2. High salary, low base pay: 28K and 29K are both low base salaries supplemented by bonuses. If you fail the performance assessment, you’re screwed.

3. The performance assessment is in the store manager’s hands; if the store manager doesn’t like you, you’re screwed.

4. The 10 days off per month are because the company takes all national holidays in advance and distributes them evenly across 12 months, so national holidays are not days off.

5. Before work, after work, and even while on vacation, you have to keep a close eye on the LINE group. If you don’t reply to messages, you’ll receive a “demerit.”

6. There are really a lot of miscellaneous tasks. Don’t think you’ll just be happily selling fried chicken—the amount of busywork will make you wonder whether a monthly salary of 28K is really worth it.

7. The number of consecutive working days does not comply with the Labor Standards Act. I have worked eight consecutive days (including ALL shifts), and senior employees have had even crazier schedules of ten consecutive working days.

8. The store manager makes the schedule, and even your preferred days off depend on the store manager’s mood. The schedule and staffing arrangements also depend on the store manager’s mood.

9. Whether overtime pay is provided also depends on the store manager’s mood.
