The director in charge of the interview studied business administration, but during the conversation, he did not seem particularly professional or knowledgeable about Taiwan’s outdoor industry.

He came across as very arrogant, as if it was unacceptable for the interviewee to be more professional than him.

Even with seven or eight years of experience in outdoor brand design and development, the salary offered was only NT$32,000, including labor and health insurance.

If you are applying to a company where the management lacks sensitivity to the outdoors—or where the people in charge are not outdoor enthusiasts—you should be prepared for that.

The company’s employee turnover rate is extraordinarily high.
