The HR representative was fairly conventional, and the software interviewer was polite.
The software interviewer's style was extremely nitpicky:
1. It took about thirty minutes for the interviewer to come in.
2. The candidate was asked to start from the beginning and introduce their work experience and the technologies they had used, in exhaustive detail. If there was anything they could not remember clearly, the interviewer would look somewhat disdainful. Really, how many people can remember the technical details and programming syntax from work they did ten years ago?
3. The interviewer would pretend to understand technical topics they did not actually understand, deliberately asking leading questions to resolve their own doubts.
If you enjoy teaching others and believe every student can be taught, you could give the interview a try.
4. The supervisor personally code-reviewed every line of code, and the person who wrote it had to clearly explain why it was written that way.
Every question was also pursued with nitpicking follow-up questions.
The whole process was ostensibly about hiring talent, but in reality it was about hiring servants.
